One of my brick walls has been William Blizard Williamson, his family and their ancestry;
The younger son, George Henry was the father of Elizabeth Ann Willett who with her husband Everard William Willett adopted my mother, which makes William Blizard Williamson (senior) my Great Great Grandfather (by adoption).
Another post, Williamson Antecedents in England, now details the above genealogy. This post now deals with ancestry in Ireland.
This posts summarises what is and is not known about this family and what can be done to break down this brick wall. Essentially we know little about their Irish life or of their ancestors in Ireland.

Family of Robert & Martha Fell at Somerville, Huddersfield
I came across a photograph believed to be of the Fell Family. A count of the people was consistent with Robert Fell and his wife Martha (née Keighley) and their children and the spouses of those children.¹
Robert and Martha had eleven children – all of whom are believed to have outlived their parents. Eight of them married.
Three faces have been pasted (old fashioned scissors and paste!) into the picture* – the two characters directly behind Robert Fell and another standing at the back on the left. * Or more accurately the negative – my print is a single sheet without pastings. (more…)

It is a key document for working out the family tree of the Williamsons of Cork.
The following is a transcript of the obituary (and associated reports) for William Blizard Williamson (the elder) of Worcester. He was (via the adoption of my mother) my Great Great Grandfather and lived from about 1811/12 until 15 September 1878.

The change to and from British Summer Time can bring about a flurry of interest in William Willett, the original advocate in Britain of Daylight Saving. He was the eldest son of another William Willett. For some reason this spring Google and that ilk have pointed a larger number of people than usual towards this family blog. Some of them have familiar family stories about being related to “Daylight Saving” Willett.
In addition another comment by a relative (about William Willett senior – Daylight Saving Willett’s father – running away from his step-mother) has prompted me to re-examine “the top” of the Willett tree as I have previously understood it.

I have also been working with GenMap UK an application that will map Genealogical Data. This has helped me get a view of where there are major groups of Faulders. (more…)
The 1861 Census for England and Wales shows a Thomas Williamson born 1845 in New Jersey, United States. He is listed as a Tinplate Worker staying in Worcester (England) with his uncle William Blizard Williamson. This would imply that Thomas (and his mother and possibly his father) would have been in New Jersey around 1845.
The purpose of this post is to identify this Thomas Williamson and his family.
