{"id":674,"date":"2016-10-16T20:29:37","date_gmt":"2016-10-16T19:29:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.faulder.org.uk\/genealogy\/?p=674"},"modified":"2016-10-16T20:57:58","modified_gmt":"2016-10-16T19:57:58","slug":"are-we-related-willett-kreamer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.faulder.org.uk\/genealogy\/?p=674","title":{"rendered":"Are We Related: Willett &#038; Kreamer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This post is in response to a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faulder.org.uk\/genealogy\/?p=647#comment-118\" target=\"_blank\">comment<\/a> from Eve Thirkle.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I happened across your family tree of Josiah Box and Elizabeth Stiles when researching my Kreamer family line (my father\u2019s line) and was amazed to discover a link to the Willett family (my mother\u2019s line) \u2013 still need to see whether it is the same families and where the link occurs if there is one but thank you for publishing the tree.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This post addresses the first relationship &#8211; between the Kreamer family and the Willett family (which has been traced back to Colchester, Essex).<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>It does look as if the Kreamers and the Willets are related via the Box family.<\/p>\n<p>William Willett (senior) the father of William Willett, the advocate of daylight saving, appears to have married a Maria Box in Stepney on 27 January 1856. The parish register for Saint Philip, Stepney (held by the London Metropolitan Archives) shows:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Name: William Willett<br \/>\nSpouse: Maria Box<br \/>\nRecord Type: Marriage<br \/>\nEvent Date: 27 Jan 1856<br \/>\nParish: St Philip, Stepney<br \/>\nBorough: Tower Hamlets<br \/>\nFather Name: Everard Willett<br \/>\nSpouse Father: Thomas Henry Box<br \/>\nRegister Type: Parish Register<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Maria\u2019s parents Thomas Henry Box and Mary Ann Hall seem to have had (at least) 13 children.<\/p>\n<p>The IGI Transcription (Batch P015521) shows for Maria:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>MARIA BOX Female<br \/>\nEvent(s): Birth: 18 NOV 1820<br \/>\nChristening: 10 DEC 1820 St John Horseleydowns, Bermondsey, London<br \/>\nParents: Father: THOMAS HENRY BOX Mother: MARY ANN<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>and (also Batch P015521) shows for her sister Mary Sophia:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>MARY SOPHIA BOX Female<br \/>\nEvent(s): Birth: 04 MAY 1815<br \/>\nChristening: 28 MAY 1815 St John Horseleydowns, Bermondsey, London<br \/>\nParents: Father: THOMAS HENRY BOX Mother: MARY ANN<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Their eldest child Mary Sophia seems to have married John Kreamer \u2013 wedding details as yet unknown. However I am told that the birth certificate of Joseph Robert Kreamer (b 12 Dec 1848) shows his parents as John Kreamer and Mary Sophia Kreamer, formerly Box. All three show up together on the 1851 Census at 4 James Court, Bermondsey, London\/Surrey<\/p>\n<p>I believe that John Kreamer is the great (x3) grandfather of Eve Thirkle.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This post is in response to a comment from Eve Thirkle.
